Akure Adams marks AFCON return with Sevilla

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams made an impressive return from Africa Cup of Nations duty on Monday, scoring twice off the bench to rescue Sevilla in a thrilling 2–2 La Liga draw against Elche. Adams, who helped Nigeria to a bronze medal at AFCON 2025, was introduced at halftime with Sevilla trailing. He pulled a goal back in the second half — the club’s first competitive strike in five matches — and then converted a stoppage-time penalty to level the score and end Sevilla’s four-game winless run in all competitions.
